Bruno Thoret, decorative painter

Thirty years with a brush, from châteaux to YouTube tutorials: a path between the tradition of master decorators and contemporary creation.

Career

A craft passed on

Born in 1967 and self-taught, Bruno Thoret received an artistic merit diploma at the Toulouse international exhibition in 1994, then trained in 1997 with a Meilleur Ouvrier de France (France’s highest craft distinction). He exhibits in south-west France and Occitanie, has created decors for châteaux and historic monuments, and founded a school of decorative painting in Toulouse.

This experience of great houses and restoration sites gave him an intimate knowledge of materials, textures and the play of light. From this foundation grew a personal body of work, where classical heritage meets contemporary expression: canvases conceived as unique pieces.

Today, with Maison THORET, he passes this knowledge on to more than 8,000 subscribers on YouTube, mentors students and helps artists reveal their singularity.
